Masai Mara is considered by many to be one of Kenya's finest National Reserves. The rolling grasslands offer ideal game viewing and photographic opportunities and the grassy plains are broken by rocky outcrops which are favorite midday resting places for lion, for which the Mara is famous. Some of the other animals which can be seen in and around this 700 square mile conservation area include elephant, black rhino, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle and all the big cats are also found in Mara, and the rivers are home of crocodiles and hippos. One of the Mara's main attractions each year is the astonishing spectacle of the annual migration of up to two million wildebeest, thousands of zebra and an escort of carnivores from the Serengeti plains, following the rains and succulent new grass. A costly trek as many of the lame, laggard and sick will fall prey to the ravening pack of predators and many more will die in the swirling flood waters trying to cross the Mara River.
Lake Nakuru was first gazetted as a bird sanctuary in 1960 and upgraded to National Park status in 1968. The park is located in Central Kenya, in Nakuru District of the Rift Valley Province, covering an area of 188 km2, set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland next to Nakuru town. Attractions like the black Rhinoa, The landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter. The lake was designated as a Ramsar site in 1990 and the Climate ranges from Cold, Hot and Humid, Hot and Dry.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru
You will have to wake up and have full breakfast as you check out the camp to proceed to Lake Nakuru, if willing on this day you can as well visit the Masai Village for one hour and learn more of the Masai Culture, lunch will be in Narok town or (Mai Mahiu) hot water after lunch proceed to Lake Nakuru and arriving early evening and if time allows you will have short game drive as you check in to your lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru
Early morning depart for the game drive on the amazing L. Nakuru well known as a bird watchers paradise, on the floor of the Great Rift Valley surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges, bird watching, hiking and game drives. You will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizable number of the endangered White and Black rhinos as well as the Rothschild’s giraffe, waterbucks; predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of bird life in and around the lake. Flamingos are also plenty at the lake. Leave for Nairobi late afternoon arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon with a drop off to the hotel of your choice or back to the airport to catch up with your flight for the next destination.

The landscape is rugged and dramatic - against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, gaunt hills and withered scrub tree punctuate the sparse and dry terrain with clusters of the incredibly hardy desert rose providing the occasional flash of vivid colour. Samburu National Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya's vast Northern Frontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. The landscape is rugged and dramatic - against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, hills and withered scrub tree punctuate the sparse and dry terrain with clusters of the incredibly hardy desert rose providing the occasional flash of vivid color. Crocodile and hippo share the river with the many small herds of elephant which bathe and frolic in the muddy brown waters during the heat of the day before returning later to browse on the lush vegetation of the riverine forest. Buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and plains game may also be seen but a special feature of this Reserve are the various species of game unique to these northern parks - Beisa oryx, the long necked gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich.

Depart Nairobi in the Morning after breakfast to Samburu at the North rugged Semi desert region, through harsh contains some of the species rarely found elsewhere e.g. Reticulated giraffes, grevy’s zebra, kuchi, Beisa Oryx’s, Somali Ostrich, gerenuks, vulturine, guinea fowl among others. Day 3: Nairobi
Pre-breakfast game drive, after breakfast departs for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
This is the largest Park in Kenya covering an area of 21,812 Km2 and was divided into East and West for administrative purposes by Nairobi and Mombasa railway / road. Tsavo West is a more popular destination on account of its magnificent scenery, Mzima Springs, rich and varied wildlife, good road system, rhino reserve, rock climbing potential and guided walks along the Tsavo River, and the park is operated by Kenya Wildlife Service. The park's habitats include open plains alternating with Savannah bush and semi desert scrub, acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops and more extensive ranges and isolated hills; belts of riverine vegetation; palm thickets and on the Chyulu hills, mountain forest. There are numerous rocky outcrops and ridges and part of the park, towards the Chyulu Hills, is of recent volcanic origin with lava flows and ash cones including the Shetani lava flow, an example of a recent volcano.
Day 1: Mombasa - Tsavo East
Depart from your hotel after breakfast / airport arrival in the morning and drive along the Mombasa – Nairobi road to the first gate to Tsavo east national park (Bachuma gate). After entry embark on your first game viewing in search of Elephants, the man eaters of Tsavo, Buffalo, cheetah, Giraffe and other plain game. Lunch at wildlife lodge / Luxury camp. Afternoon game drive which includes a visit to the famous Aruba dam where lots of game can be found especially during the dry season. Dinner and overnight in the same lodge/luxury camp.
Day 2: Tsavo East - Tsavo West.
We shall be up before the sunrise for a game drive before breakfast. The splendor of an African sunrise that engulfs the savanna shall be experienced as we traverse the vast park in search of the early grazers and hunters. Breakfast will be followed by a checkout and drive to Tsavo west national park. Visit the Rhino sanctuary during this enroute scenic game viewing. Arrive at your lodge/luxury camp for check-in and lunch. Afternoon game drive will later on follow and will include a visit to shetani lava flow point which provides excellent distance view of Mt. Kilimanjaro with its snowcapped peaks. Return to your Lodge / Luxury Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Tsavo West - Amboseli
A pre-breakfast game drive to view the beautiful Tsavo West hills. After breakfast, visit the famous Mzima Springs; spot the Hippos, Crocodiles and different types of Fish in the crystal clear waters. Game en-route to Amboseli National Park arriving in time for Lunch. Afternoon game drive in search of the big five. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Africa’s highest snowcapped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to Amboseli Lodge/luxury camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Amboseli - Mombasa
After breakfast leave Amboseli and drive back to Mombasa with lunch enroute in a restaurant. Optional visit to the Masai village at extra costs. Arrive in Mombasa early in the evening and transfer back to your resident hotel/airport for your onward flight.

Wake up very early and prepare for a pre-breakfast morning game drive where you will be able to see animals like Somali ostrich, gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra among others and then head back to the lodge for your breakfast. After breakfast depart for Tsavo West via Kyulu hills and shaitani lava flows and Mzima springs where from an underwater observation tank you can see submerged Hippo walking the floor of the springs. Tsavo hosts the “Big Five” and plenty of other wild game. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 11: Tsavo East National Park
Depart Tsavo West after breakfast and cross over to Tsavo East which is also well known for massive herds of elephants which are usually covered in red dust, the man -eaters of Tsavo-lions are seen and plenty of wild game. Meals and overnight at lodge.
Day 12: Nairobi

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire NP.
After Breakfast, drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, Tarangire is a small wildlife Jewelry with a unique animal concentration desirable for quick travelers with little time to spend on safari. Lions, Leopard and sometimes tree climbing lions, Pythons are a common view in this park, Elephants to very close proximity is commonly seen. You will have a hot Lunch at the Tarangire Lodge and later drive out the park boundaries to where you will rest to night at the Tarangire Porini Luxury Tented Lodge made of canvas walls set in a civilized natural setting.
Day 3: Tarangire game viewing and transfer to the craters.
Morning breakfast and a brief game viewing in Tarangire. We then Drive out of Tarangire after Lunch to Ngorongoro Crater, arriving in the evening where we check in the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Rest of the evening relaxed at your balcony with clear views of the crater floor. Dinner and Overnight at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Day 4: Crater visit
After the 7:30am Breakfast, you will descend the crater walls onto the crater floor which has a radius of about 265sqKm. The crater is uniquely dotted with watering holes and sheltering about 30,000 Mammals including the White bearded Gnus, cheetah and Tanzania’s only Black Rhinos." This is the eighth wonder of the world and the world’s only remaining memories of the "garden of Eden" better described as Noah’s Ark. After the crater excitement, you will then ascend the Crater walls to your Sopa Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Manyara
Depart the Ngorongoro conservation area after breakfast; drive into the jungles of Lake Manyara, Lake Manyara is famous for her tree climbing Lions, large schools of Hippos at the Hippo pool and the Maji moto hot springs. You will then take your picnic Lunch at one of the many Picnic sites set aside by the park Authorities and then continue exploring the Lake Manyara jungles, where a good list of wild life will be added to your previous record. Drive out of the park boundaries in the evening into the Unoto Retreat Tanzania’s only true 5 Star Luxury Lodge set in a remote Maasai Country where bird walks can be arranged.
Day 6: Game viewing and full day at the Manyara jungles
We will have an optional Pre breakfast bird walk around E Unoto Retreat, after breakfast you will have the option to go out game viewing full day back in the Manyara Jungles or just relax at your Balcony where birding opportunities are superb. You can then later join in a walk exploring the local surroundings where again you will have further chances of birding for waders and a mix of dry country species as well as meeting up with the local people. Depending on which lodge you're staying at, activities may include: nature walks, cultural village visits, a hike to Endoro waterfalls, bike tours, coffee plantation tours and more. Day 3: Ngorongoro.
You are provided with a personalized, experienced tracker - guide and private transportation today whilst exploring around the Ngorongoro National Park grounds. Explore one of the most recognized wildlife conservation areas in Tanzania today. Depart your camp or lodge in a privately driven vehicle, along with a local expert guide, for an approximate time of 30 minutes drive towards the Ngorongoro Park Gate. It will then take you another 20 minutes to reach the crater rim itself. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater floor also boasts one of the highest carnivore densities in the world including large prides of lions, packs of hyenas and solitary predators like cheetahs and jackals. Day 4: Ngorongoro - Manyara - Serengeti
Have your breakfast in the morning and then drive for about an hour from the Ngorongoro Conservation area to Lake Manyara. Catch your flight from Manyara (LKY) to Serengeti today.

A small purse / backpack, is recommended as a carry-on, to keep your camera, passport, hat, sunblock or other items you need within easy reach. Accommodation will be traditional tented camping experience and this depends on the migration movements i.e. the camp will be in the Western Serengeti from April to July, the Northern Serengeti from August to November and the Southern Serengeti from December to March. Day 5: Serengeti
After waking up, you will join up with others at the lodge for your game drive. Drives are typically done in the morning at 6:30am for a few hours and/or 4pm for a few hours. Head out into the park to explore the vast expanse of the Serengeti. Spend today searching out Impala, one of Africa's most beautiful and graceful animals. Previously thought to be part of the gazelle tribe, Impalas have been found to be so different that they are now classified as their own sub-family status. When frightened or startled the whole impala herd starts randomly leaping to confuse their predator. They can jump distances more than 10 meters (33 ft.) and 3 meters (9 ft.) high. Day 6: Serengeti
Today you'll set out early on your morning game drive with lodge vehicle and guide. The Serengeti houses an abundance of wildlife. It is home to the millions of wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle and Zebra between late October and August. Another great time to visit the Serengeti is between December and March, because the plains are green and lush after the short rains in November and the animals are well fed and prepared for the calving season in February. At this time, the wildebeest migration should be in the southern plains of the Serengeti, and young cubs and calves can be spotted early in the year. Big game such as lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and elephant, as well as giraffes, impala, gazelle, and zebra are abundant and can be spotted on safari in Tanzania year round.
Spend the day taking in the spectacle of the famous wildebeest migration. This annual migration through the Serengeti and Masai Mara is one of the safari highlights of Africa. The wildebeest migration moves in a basic clockwise direction throughout the year in the Serengeti eco-system and moves north into the Masai Mara in Kenya from June/July through to Sep/October. Sightings cannot be guaranteed as the herds move according to the availability of food sources and migration movements can be erratic. The herds are accompanied by zebras and Thomson's gazelles and are stealthily hunted by local predators such as leopards, lions and hyenas.

Day 1: Lake Manyara.
Depart Arusha to Lake Manyara national park to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive and game viewing. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and birdlife. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favoured haunt of Manyaras legendary tree- climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants squadrons of banded mongoose dart between the acacias while the diminutive Kirk’s dik dik forages in the shade, pairs of klipspringer are often seen silhouetted on the rocks above a field of searing hot springs that streams and bubbles adjacent to the lake shore in the far south of the park. Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater.
Morning game viewing and drive in Manyara. After breakfast depart to one of the natural wonders of the world, Ngorongoro crater. The Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthral visitors. It borders the Serengeti National Park to the north and west. Arusha is known as the gateway to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Northern Parks. Dinner and overnight at a lodge.
Day 3: Ngorongoro crater..
After breakfast you will be taken 2000ft down the crater by a 4wheel drive vehicle for a full day crater tour, picnic lunch at crater, Also referred to as ?the eighth wonder of the world? and stretching across some 8,300 sq km, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology that is unsurpassed in Africa. The volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and to the Maasai. In the evening ascend to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti.
After breakfast depart for Serengeti passing through Olduvai Gorge the site of Leakey’s family discovery of fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Early man himself made an appearance in Olduvai Gorge about two million years ago. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills themselves. Meals and overnight at lodge.
Day 5: Serengeti.
Full day in Serengeti plains with morning and afternoon game viewing and drive. Search for wild game you might have missed the previous game drive. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. Meals and overnight at lodge.
Day 6: Arusha-Mohi
After breakfast depart to Arusha town- Safari Destination; it is a starting point for safaris in the northern circuit arriving in time for lunch. After connect for transfer to Moshi arriving in the afternoon overnight Springlands hotel BB.
Day 7: Machame Gate to Machame Camp.
The drive from Moshi to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Gate takes about 50 minutes. The journey passes through the village of Machame which is located on the lower slopes of the mountain. We now leave the park gate and walk through the rain forest on a winding trail up a ridge. Lower down, the trail can be muddy and slippery. Gaiters and trekking poles are a good idea here. We continue a short distance untilwe reach the Machame Camp.
Day 8: Machame Camp to Shira Camp.
After breakfast, we leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on an ascending path, crossing the little valley walking along a steep rocky ridge, covered with heather, until the ridge ends. The route now turns west onto a river gorge. Time for rest, dinner, and overnight at the Shira campsite.
Day 9: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp.
From the Shira Plateau, we continue to the east up a ridge, passing the junction towards the peak of Kibo. As we continue, our direction changes to the South East towards the Lava Tower, called the “Shark’s Tooth.”
Shortly after the tower, we come to the second junction which brings us up to the Arrow Glacier at an altitude of 4876m / 15,997 ft. We now continue down to the Barranco Hut at an altitude of 3860m / 12,664 ft. Here we rest, enjoy dinner, and overnight. Although you end the day at the same elevation as when you started, this day is very important for acclimatization and will help your body prepare for summit day.
Day 10: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp.
After breakfast, we leave Barranco and continue on a steep ridge up the Barranco Wall, through the Karanga Valley (lunch at 4200m / 13,779 ft), and the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail. We continue up to the Barafu Hut. You have completed the South Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here we make camp, rest, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the summit day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are to be seen from this position.
Day 11: Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Hut.
Very early in the morning (midnight to 2am), we continue our way to the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. You head in a northwesterly direction and ascend through heavy scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. At Stella Point (5685m / 18,652 ft), you will stop for a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see (weather permitting).From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all they way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit. At Uhuru Peak, you have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa. Faster hikers will see the sunrise from the summit. It can be very cold at night at these elevations, but it will be quite warm by the end of the hiking day. You will want clothing for both extremes with you. From the summit, we now make our descent continuing straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site, stopping at Barafu for lunch. You will want gaiters and trekking poles for the loose gravel going down. Mweka Camp is situated in the upper forest and mist or rain can be expected in the late afternoon. Later in the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and a well-earned sleep

Day 12: Mweka Camp to Moshi.
After breakfast, we continue the descent down to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). From the gate, continue another hour to Mweka Village. A vehicle will meet you at Mweka village to drive you back to hotel in Moshi. Don’t forget to tip your guides and porters. It is time for celebration! overnight at Springland hotel.

Day 1: Arusha
Your private, English-speaking driver will meet you in the public waiting area after passing through baggage claim to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Arusha.
Head off for a guided walk amongst the wildlife in Arusha National Park today. Arusha National Park is a multi-faceted jewel, often overlooked by guests, despite offering the opportunity to explore a beguiling diversity of habitats within a few hours. The small national park includes the slopes, summit, and ash cone of Mt. Meru, the Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, and the lush highland forests that blanket its lower slopes. Game viewing around the Momela Lakes is at a laid-back, quiet pace, and while passing through the forest many visitors stop to search for troupes of rare colubus monkeys playing in the canopy. Warthogs and black-and-white colobus monkeys are easily seen. Giraffes glide across the grassy hills, between grazing zebra herds, while pairs of wide-eyed dik-dik dart into scrubby bush.

Day 3: Arusha - Manyara - Ngorongoro
Your guide will pick you up in Arusha and drive you to Lake Manyara National park for some game drive before driving you to the impressive Ngorongoro crater. Lake Manyara National Park is best known for baboons and tree climbing lions. However your skilled guide will point out the numerous herbivores that make this park their home such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes. This scenic National park has the wall of the Great Rift Valley on one side, and the lake on the other, making it incredibly beautiful for photography opportunities. Visit the Manyara region which is best known for its baboon population. In addition, this area has many herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes. Day 4: Ngorongoro
You are provided with a personalized, experienced tracker-guide and private transportation today whilst exploring around the Ngorongoro National Park grounds. Explore one of the most recognized wildlife conservation areas in Tanzania today. Depart your camp or lodge in a privately driven vehicle, along with a local expert guide, for an approximately 20 to 30 minute drive towards the Ngorongoro Park Gate. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. This geological masterpiece was formed as a result of an extremely large volcanic explosion which caused the volcano to collapse in on itself, thus creating a crater. The crater floor also boasts one of the highest carnivore densities in the world including large prides of lions, packs of hyenas and solitary predators like cheetahs and jackals. Day 5: Ngorongoro - Serengeti
Your guide will pick you up from the Ngorongoro Conservation area and drive you to the famous plains of the Serengeti. On this drive you have the option of stopping at Olduvlai Gorge, the Serengeti welcome centre and lookout point, or stop for lunch at a picnic spot. After entering Serengeti Park you will have the chance to enjoy game viewing as you drive through the park to your next accommodation. Expect longer trip times during the rainy seasons.
The massive Olduvai Gorge or Oldupai Gorge is often referred to as “The Cradle of Mankind”. Day 6: Serengeti

Day 7: Serengeti.
The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth with its essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills themselves. Head out into this magnificent park to track animals and take in the breathtaking beauty of this unchanging landscape. Spend today searching out Impala, one of Africa's most beautiful and graceful animals. Previously thought to be part of the gazelle tribe, Impalas have been found to be so different that they are now classified as their own sub-family status. When frightened or startled the whole impala herd starts randomly leaping to confuse their predator. They can jump distances more than 10 meters (33 ft.) and 3 meters (9 ft.) high. Leopards, cheetah, lions and wild dogs prey on impala. Impala can reach running speeds of approximately 50 to 55 mph (80 to 90 km/h) to escape its predators. Day 8: Serengeti - Zanzibar.
If time allows, your expert guide will squeeze in one more game drive before dropping you off at the airstrip. It will be your last chance to see the park's diverse range of animals.

Day 1: Entebbe - Kampala

Day 2: Kampala - Lake Mburo National Park.

Set out on an adventurous game drive around the Lake Mburo National Park grounds today. The eco-diversity of this park makes for quite the journey as you explore some of the many hillsides, grasslands and water based wildlife habitats. To hone in on the specific wildlife one would want to see, the park has designated routes or “tracks” which travel to the specific landscape where these wildlife species thrive. Travelling along the “Zebra Track” will boast a variety of plain-game including Burchell zebra, bushbuck, oribi and reed buck. To find species like the elusive klipspringer one would have to travel along the “Ruroko Track.” This track is home to wildlife that requires a habitat that features a wetland basin surrounded by thick acacia shrub and woodlands. Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park - Bwindi
Enjoy your private transfer from Lake Mburo National Park to Bwindi. Often referred to as the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, this area boast some truly thick vegetation consisting of massive evergreen trees that stretch to great heights for sunlight. It is here within the Impenetrable Forest where almost half of the world’s population of Mountain Gorilla reside. The travel time between these two diverse locations is approximately 6 to 7 hours depending on weather conditions. In the afternoon, enjoy some time on your own to relax. Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla trekking
Wake up very early and depart with a picnic lunch to track the rare Mountain Gorillas (hiking boots required). The tracking may take between 5 and 8 hours. The Park Guides with you interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the lodge. Day 5: Bwindi - Parc National des Volcans
Travel today between Bwindi and Parc National des Volcans by private car and english speaking driver with box lunch while you travel (included in tour price. The Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is conveniently placed at the feet of the Virungas, the striking volcano mountains through which so many hike in order to catch a glimpse of mountain gorillas. Besides visiting the famed mountain gorillas, be sure to check out the local marketplaces and find out more about local community projects. Day 6: Parc National des Volcans
The Parc National des Volcans is located in the Virunga Mountains, a magnificent chain of dormant volcanoes in the North of the country. This area is home to the world’s last surviving mountain Gorilla populations, currently a mere 700 individuals. After breakfast you will depart the lodge and drive for approximately 1 hour to the Park Headquarters where you will meet with excellent local guides and trackers who will provide an informative session on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. After the session the hike into the forest begins.
A full day trek with your guide through the park is a reasonably strenuous activity which can last the morning or all day as you seek out the gorilla families. The guide will take you to where the gorillas were seen the night before and begin to track them from that point. The trekking can take from 1 to 6 hours and climb to altitudes not in excess of 7,500 feet. The terrain is rough and at times quite muddy. Visitors are asked to maintain a distance of 7m (about 22 feet) from the gorillas. It can rain at any time in the forest, so waterproof clothing is recommended for you, your cameras and film.
Kids under age 15, or people sick with a cold, flu or other contagious illness, are not allowed to visit the gorillas.

Day 7: Kigali and departure
A private vehicle with English speaking driver will provide a transfer today from Kigali to Parc National des Volcans. The approximate travel time is 3 hours.
Prepare your senses for an explosion of culture and emotion during today’s excursion through Kigali. Begin by visiting some of the popular market places to view and purchase some of the local products. Next, you’ll travel to a location stained with heart aching cultural history, The Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. This tragic memorial was constructed in April 2004 to honour those whom lost their lives during the Rwandan Genocide. The centre was built on the site where an estimated 250 000 victims were buried. This location serves as a place where individuals can grieve the loss of their loved ones and to provide educational information regarding the genocide. Rwandans believe that although the gruesomeness and painful emotions associated with this tragedy may be construed as negative, it is extremely important that the younger generations of Rwandans fully understand the reasons and effects of such an event on a nation. The Centre features three permanent exhibits which depict the events of 1994, as well as a children’s memorial which exhibits the history of genocidal violence towards children from all over the world.
